 Ms. Amble has extensive experience in finance, accounting, operational & risk management, Quality, and strategic leadership.  As Executive Vice President and Corporate Comptroller for the American Express Company (AXP) from 2004 to mid 2011, Ms. Amble was responsible for all controllership finance functions across the Company, including oversight of all aspects of the Company’s global reporting, financial controls, SOX, technical accounting and M&A advisory functions.  She was also responsible for (Six Sigma) Quality across AXP.  Ms. Amble will retire from AXP effective December 30, 2011, and until then is assisting in the transition of her responsibilities and providing support for AXP’s Women’s initiatives.  

Prior to joining AXP, Ms. Amble spent fourteen years in various senior leadership roles with the General Electric Company (GE), including CFO Commercial Real Estate, CFO Capital Markets and Controller for GE Capital Services.  Her tenure with GE was preceded by five years with the Financial Accounting Standards Board where she specialized in pensions, derivatives and other financial instruments.  She was actively involved in developing several Financial Accounting Statements and related publications, including SFAS 87 and 88 and supporting Q & A books, and SFAS 105.  

Ms. Amble has considerable directorial and governance experience, currently serving on the Board of Sirius XM Satellite Radio and Chair of the Audit Committee, and previously serving on the board of Broadcom Corporation.  Ms Amble is qualified as an “audit committee financial expert” within the meaning of SEC regulations and has accounting and related financial management expertise within the meaning of the NYSE and NASDAQ listing standards.  Ms. Amble’s position on the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council, the technical advisory board to the FASB, allows her to be on the cutting edge of technical accounting standards.  

Ms. Amble is a strong and active proponent of Business Ethics and Integrity.  She served as a key contributor to the development of the Smeal College of Business Academic Honor Code at The Pennsylvania State University, her alma mater.  She co-founded the ensuing Annual Partners in Business Ethics Symposium. She is a strong advocate for Women in Business and is co-founder and Chair of W.O.M.E.N. In America Inc., a Leadership Program launched the fall of 2009.
